DETROIT – Due to issues surrounding the development of the title, Variant Game Studios is announcing the delay of its iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch title “Legends of Phantastica: The Clockwork Tower.”

A significant number of the developer’s contract employees are stationed in Bangkok, Thailand, and have been subject to the political unrest present in the region. Due to this and other factors, these contractors could not fulfill their duties and have had to withdraw from the project to tend to their families and personal welfare.

“Our hearts and thoughts are with our friends in Thailand during this troubling time. We hope they will be able to find a stable environment and come back to work as soon as possible,” said Variant Interactive CEO Cristopher Boyer.

In the meantime, Variant has moved forward with the production of the game and expects development to follow closely to a new revised schedule without further issue.

Legends of Phantastica: The Clockwork Tower is slated for release in September 2010. Interested gamers can follow the game’s development at Variant’s website.
